A despairing People elected Hamas, an organization that, among its founding principles has death, instead of peaceful development.A People exasperated and frightened by continuous rocket attacks on their cities approves the resumption of war in the Gaza Strip.
Two equally legitimate rights, trampled and held in contempt for decades, trying to get forward with outdated methods, that have repeatedly shown their ineffectiveness.
From the Palestinian side, they didn’t yet realize that, to get rid of an occupying country ruled by a democratic regime, the non-violent struggle is much more effective than armed struggle and terrorism.
On the Israeli side, they didn’t want to take note that who is technologically superior always has an alternative to military violence, and that return the territories occupied in 1967 would be the ethically correct move, that the whole world, including friends, expects since long time.
Meanwhile, the account of the dead, mostly civilians, retakes to climb.
Is it possible that Israel, with all its technological superiority, still has to resort to aggressive military force to defend themselves?
Why they still don’t want to understand that every killed child will only perpetuate the feud for at least two more generations?
The wall that Israel had decided to erect, although it is a sad monument to hatred between two peoples, however, has proved effective, making decrease the number of suicide attacks practically to zero. When there is no other way to calm down heated feelings, the only way is to separate the contenders, even forced, if they do not want.
Israel should continue on that road, and rise a shield technology, which can neutralize the rockets of Hamas. For example developing a weapon system capable of intercepting the just launched rockets and to neutralize them when they are still in the Hamas’s territory.
Another good suggestion, not only to Israel, but to all the weapons supplier countries: let’s cut the selling of rockets to Hamas and terrorist organizations!
At that point, the Israeli population would be safe, and some years without deaths could pass.
Also it is worth to remember that, in the Arab world, the Palestinian community was the one endowed by the most "Western" cultural orientation, and a the more advanced approach toward science and technology! Why those sacred aspirations and good will were pushed back in the hands of the death preachers? I am convinced that if we could reach out to the many who want only peace and progress, many apparently endemic divisions could be overcome.
But at least one generation without dead should pass!
Gentlemen having in your hands the destiny of the world, please, let’s worke for this goal! Everything else is just chatters and destruction.
